WORKSHOP: Barking & Jumping Up!
This workshop has been so popular, that wef. Aug/Sep 2022, we will offer it as a class under our General Classes Programme.
A two-hour workshop to teach you how prevent barking at triggers such as the door-bell or people walking past the house or yard, and jumping on people.
NOT for dogs that are reactive to other dogs or people!
This workshop is heavy on both theory and practice, but understand that you won't fix it in two hours. You will need to continue applying the protocols you learn when you get home, where your dog has been practicing the behaviour much more than he/she has at Cowichan Canine. How long it will take to fix at home will depend on how long your dog has been practicing barking/jumping up and how well you are able to consistently implement and practice the protocols,
IMPORTANT: Students that are new to Cowichan Canine will be required to sign a liability waiver upon arrival and provide documentation for their dog of vaccination for parvo and distemper, no older than 3 years, or titer test no older than 12 months. Without this documentation, your dog cannot enter the premises and your fee will be forfeit.
Limited to 4 dogs.
We have taken two dogs through Puppy Playgroup & Foundation. We are so pleased with how socialized our dogs are and well behaved. The methods that the trainers use at Cowichan Canine are amazing and we have to admit when we first started we didn’t think it would work with Siberian Huskies, not only did it work but one graduated with honours and the other was pretty darn close! Far exceeded our expectations of when we started the course. The Foundation class with Stephanie was absolutely brilliant and the dogs adored her. She was a wizard in convincing our very stubborn girl to actually want to play to learn! We wished they offered an advanced Foundation class to keep us coming back! We have signed up for the beginners scent detection so we are very excited to start a new chapter with our girls J

Duncan, BC
Hi Lizbeth, Stephanie and Glenda:
Thought you would like to know, we took Dalli to the Duncan market on Saturday morning. She was a perfect lady, walked around with her tail wagging and held high all the time. She was friendly and outgoing to other people, and sniffed other people’s hands and let them pet her when we stopped to talk or purchase things from the different stalls. We then walked over to the Garage for coffee, sat outside and again, she was well behaved, let people pet her and she was actually licking their hands. This was her first outing in a busy people environment as we usually just leave her in the car or at home when we go out shopping.
What a difference from a year ago when you first met her. Thank you, thank you!
We’ll see you in the fall when we come for the agility courses.
(Dalli was adopted a year ago from Mexico, and was fear-aggressive to people coming to the house.)
