This is a pre-purchase / pre-adoption consultation programme to help you decide, based on your own particular circumstances and desires:

- Should you get get a puppy or an adult dog? 

- From where should you get that dog - breeder, rescue, etc?

- What questions should you ask of a breeder or a rescue, respectively, in order to be assured that they are not a back-yard breeder, a puppy mill (or fronting for one), or outright scammers?

- What breed or breed combination should you get?

- How can you stack the deck in your favour in order to avoid getting a(nother) problem dog, health- or behaviour-wise?

We begin with fact-finding about your family's lifestyle, and your wishes and plans for your next dog. This is done through a questionnaire and a 1-hr Zoom session. We will then go away and research your options based on those findings and then report back to you with a number of suggestions on how to source that puppy or dog, which we will discuss during a second Zoom session. We then go away again and fine-tune that selection, and report back again during a third Zoom session.

(NOTE: Pre-screening of individual parent dogs or puppies is not included in this package, but can be added at our regular consultation rate, $115/hr.)
