About Kim Bialkowski

I started working with Bloodhounds in August 1995. I earned my first tracking title in the same year. I earned my first TDX in the spring of 1996. Since then I have worked and tracking titled every dog I have owned in both Canada and the US. During this time I was also wor

king with my local BC SAR [Search & Rescue] group and have many "finds" with many of my bloodhounds. I have been involved with Search and Rescue since Dec. 1996. I had the first RCMP bloodhound in BC, and the third certified bloodhound in the history of the province. I have had a mission ready bloodhounds in Washington State since 2000 when congress changed the rule to allow me to be an active member from a foreign country. I have two bloodhounds in the Canadian and American Working Dog Hall of Fame.

I am the current Chairman of the Canadian Bloodhound Club Trailing Committee, as well as a judge . I am also an American Bloodhound Club trailing judge since 1997. I am a Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) Ground Search and Rescue Team Leader, and an Instructor as well as a Track Aware person with PEP and UTS (human tracker). I am also a certified team leader in Washington State, a senior K9 handler with Northwest Bloodhound Search and Rescue. Every two to three years I attend a law enforcement seminar and get a written evaluation as a mission ready K9 handler with Virginia Bloodhound Search and Rescue.

I am currently working my dog, a 2 1/2 year old bloodhound named Au, who has achieved her AM/CAN/INT Champion, TD, MTI, CGC, and CGN. She is mission ready in Washington state and working towards her RCMP certification. She is also working on her obedience and agility titles with the AKC and CKC.

What Clients Are Saying:

I sincerely want to thank all the trainers who worked with us on training our newest member of the family, Mila. Actually it was training us but we won't admit to that!! We had the privilege of working with Karen, Jody, Glenda, Bev and Lisbeth in our Foundation Classes. Every trainer took an active role in helping us achieve success. We felt that they were as excited with our small steps towards success as we were! The training program was so well laid out with the book, clickers, backpack and superb teachers that it made it easy to be successful if you were willing to put in the time. It also made it fun! There is a saying "it takes a village or community to raise a child". We think the saying could say "it takes Cowichan Canine to help raise a dog". We are now hoping to continue with agility classes and maybe even try the scent class. Thank you again

Lisbeth -I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that Lexy is doing great. We are so proud of her. In the last month it seems like she has realized that life is ok here and she doesn’t have to worry anymore. Resource guarding gone. No more worried looks. Even the door is ok now. When familiar people come she doesn’t even bother getting off the couch anymore and minimal barking with any other comings and goings. I have had her off leash a fair bit and she listens when I call her. And she regularly turns around to see where I am. Best of all, she loves to swim and she loves the sailboat. Thanks for all your help – Warm regards from us and Lexy !!
